"Black guys all sound alike" thinks one black guy

9 Dec

Have I been clear about my opinion of pranks? If not, here goes: they are the worst. The. Worst. We’re supposed to laugh at people for the dumb shit they do, not natural human reactions to a stressful/scary/confusing situation. I’m reminded of one TV show prank wherein the pranksters set up an empty baby carseat on top of a car and started driving away. People obviously freaked the fuck out and started screaming at the driver. Hilarious, huh? Stupid moron good samaritan asssholes, trying to save a child from serious danger. Joke’s on you, idiots! Anyway, my conclusion: pranks are the humor equivalent of laughing at midgets and handicapped people.

(Aaaaaand exhale. Great rant, B. Everyone has stopped reading. You are talking to yourself.)

That said, the following prank — in which an angry moron gets mad at a supposed prank caller that is actually his own voice — is pretty great, mostly because the guy is entirely to blame for falling for it. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence (“or just a little patience” — Axl Rose) would have hung up right away. But I guess this guy decided to go with the rare “threaten to murder a taped version of yourself” strategy. To each his own, I suppose.

“We’re supposed to laugh at people for the dumb shit they do, not natural human reactions to a stressful/scary/confusing situation.”

(/rises to feet, begins slow clap)

In one sentence, you’ve entirely summed up why half of Sasha Baron Cohen’s comedy is funny, and half is entirely unfunny and painful to watch.
