{+} I’m not saying the rape allegation against Johan Santana is unimportant, but are we ever going to discuss the “wrongful imprisonment” claim in the woman’s suit? I can’t help but envision him chaining his victim to a basement medieval-style, which doesn’t really make sense considering the encounter took place on a golf course. How do you imprison somebody on a golf course? Maintenance shed? Looking for some answers, people.

Also: is there such thing as “rightful” imprisonment?

{+} This week in counterintuitive news that most people will choose to not believe anyway: our nation’s borders are actually one of our safest places. But don’t let pesky “logic” get in the way of your hatred, racists. Never stopped you in the past.

{+} I’ve been slowly working my way through this list of the supposed best magazine articles. I’ll suggest something from that list from time to time, and here is today’s: “Lost in the Waves” from Men’s Journal, about a father and his autistic son getting pulled miles into the ocean from a riptide. Incredible read.
