Friday afternoon swag

20 Nov

A few links to get you workin’ fools through that painful last hour of work…

{+} The Senate Democrats’ health insurance bill looks promising: 31 million people insured for an expense that will (allegedly) pay for itself in ten years. Try to argue against that, haters! I dare you! (Don’t really. I’m a “glass half-full of ideas I want to believe without considering the opposite viewpoint” kinda guy. Leave me alone.)

{+} Paul F. Tompkins engages in a healthy debate with the Improv Everywhere guy about the “humor” behind pranks. I’m with Tompkins; they’re never funny.

{+} Newsweek’s “12 Comics Who Aren’t Funny” tops my “List of Things We Already Knew” of 2009.

My take on Improv Everywhere is that they’re mostly harmless, but they may have been misused in psychological warfare or harassment campaigns – and most of the participants wouldn’t even know.
