Monday swag

18 May

{+} The indelible lure of fourthmeal takes another victim:

Officials say a suspected drug dealer who led police on a 90 mph chase in Indiana was arrested after he stopped suddenly at a Taco Bell parking lot.

Fort Wayne police Sgt. Mark Walters says 36-year-old Jermaine Askia Cooper told officers he “knew he was going to jail for a while” and wanted to get one last burrito.

———-

{+} Outstanding writer Sarah Hepola takes a tour of fast food value meals to rate their tastiness. Sadly, I’ve been conducting this exact same experiment for years, I’ve just never thought of writing it down. I take serious issue with Hepola’s McNuggets stance, but concur with her other viewpoints.

{+} Another kick-ass entry on McSweeneys: Quick Pitches: The Romantic Comedy

———-

{+} Was I the only one who originally missed Michelle Bachmann’s “You be da man!” kerfuffle? Keep on keepin’ on, Bachmann. Though you make our state look stupid, you make your party look even worse. I’ll happily take that trade-off.

{+} Please make your way over to the hilarious AwkwardBoners.com for another great submission: the Stairway Stiffy

———-

{+} One million internet points for anyone who noticed my recent Randball comment show up on Page 2 of the sports page in Saturday’s Star Tribune:

I sometimes get the feeling that Blyleven has a problem with pitch counts. It’s subtle, but I watch a lot of Twins games and I’m picking up a definite vibe from him.

Question: what percentage of newspaper readers do you think will pick up on my sarcasm? 20%?

Taco Bell’s 89 cent Chicken Burrito is ridonkulous.

I would guess that only 10% of newspaper readers understood your sarcasm. Sid Hartman is not in that 10%.

This is probably oldish news but I was in Borders on Saturday and saw that The Bro Code, written by Barney Stinson, is available in paperback.
