Thursday p.m. time-wasters

29 Jan

{+} For those who care: thankfully, I was not affected by our recent layoffs. Big sigh of relief for now, but another reminder of the historical awfulness of the economy. Blech.

{+} I appreciate Joe Posnanski, everyone’s favorite sportswriter, trying to wring some emotion out of the news that Springsteen, everyone’s favorite singer, is playing the Super Bowl. “Preciate the effort, Joe, but anyone who uses the term “sellout” in any manner, about anyone, is an automatic douchebag in my mind. No exceptions.

{+} I am not happy with anyone questioning the recent extension of my guy Jason Kubel. Even if it does kind of make sense.

That’s great to hear about your job B, I was worried about you. I hope you’ve recovered from the salsa too.

MJ, I thought we had all agreed to never speak of The Salsa Incident ever again.

Or maybe that request was denied. Crap.

Re: your job. Good to hear.

Re: Springsteen. Should be a good show, unless Clarence Clemons whips out a jug.

Re: Kubel. Comparing Kubel and Hinske does not make sense. Kubel’s potential ceiling is still unknown. Hinske’s best years are behind him. They are not comparable.
