Random trivia, part deux

25 Jun

jaredthepornking.jpgLooks like it’s time for another installment of Random Trivia. Like last time, the answers will be given after the jump. If you’ve got the willpower, leave your guesses in the comments before scrolling up to see how you did. Best of luck to you.

1. How old was Bryan Adams in the “summer of ‘69”?

2. What college offered a wrestling scholarship to AC Slater?

3. What band created the South Park theme song?

4. How did Jared the Subway Guy make money while in college?

5. Name the three bands musician Damon Albarn has been in.

6. Doug Liman, the director of Swingers and Go, also directed the pilot episode for what popular, recently concluded television show?

7. Name the three players received by the Twins from San Francisco in exchange for AJ Pierzynski?

8. What is the name of the guy that inspired Cosmo Kramer?

9. What actor was originally cast as Danny (later played by John Travolta) but refused for fear of being typecast?

10. Who was the first player officially signed by the Minnesota Wild?

***

1. Nine years old.

2. The University of Iowa (he turned it down and went to Cal U. with Zack and Screech, and yes I’m embarrassed to know that.)

3. Primus, they of the “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver” fame. A great nugget from Wikipedia: Many incorrectly believed “Wynona” was about actress Winona Ryder. Claypool has acknowledged several times that the song is not about Ryder, indicating that the song’s name is spelled and pronounced differently. While this placated Ryder, her then boyfriend Soul Asylum vocalist David Pirner took offense and renamed one of his songs “Les Claypool’s A Big Fucking Asshole” in concert.

4. Renting out porn to his classmates. Seriously.

5. Blur, Gorillaz and his most recent project, The Good The Bad and The Queen.

6. The O.C.

7. An easy one for any true Twins fan: Boof Bonser, Joe Nathan and Francisco Liriano.

8. Kenny Kramer.

9. Henry Winkler, aka The Fonz. I wonder how many times he’s drunk himself into a teary stupor while watching his performance as a cross-dressing moron in The Waterboy while thinking back to this decision.

10. Steve Aronson. He’s in my fantasy football league (I’m kind of a big deal).

    1. 10 (I was 2 months, 3 days old)
    2. U of MN (my senior year this hotshot comes for his official visit and I was asked to show him some nightlife. Take him to Deja Vu and the queer would not get a dance because of some girl back home! Glad he went somewhere else).
    3. Rembrants (they write good theme songs)
    4. Drug Mule (I was thinking in the folds of his ass. Seriously, who is going in there?)
    5. Aloha, Mr Hand, Ointment and Salve (oops that’s my three bands)
    6. Sopranos
    7. Boof, Nathan, Liriano (who’d we get for Milton and Viola-it was separate trades)
    8. Kenny Kramer (Larry David’s neighbor?)
    9. Kevin Spacy (If he did I would have never believed him in his K-Pak role)

B, I found the original list that I made prior to reading the answers. So I filled it out exactly as the list stated and did not change to reflect my new knowledge. I am glad that I got to play the trivia game.

Cool Rut — I’m not entirely sure and I’m too lazy to look it up. But here is who I think the Twins got for both trades

For Milton (who was acquired with Guzman in the Knoblauch trade) Twins got Silva, Punto and a player to be named later. I have no idea who that player was from the Phillies. Maybe C.J. Woodrow. Is even still in the Phillies system? Whatever happened to him, Luke Appert, Sam Centerfield. They were all at the U when I was there.

    Continuing on.

Viola – the Minnesota king of “trade me or pay me” F’in lame. I know the twins got Rick Aguliera from the Mets and I think three to four other players, but I have no clue on who those are. B, do you know?

Terry Ryan is good with the trades. They are usually in the Twins favor, although there are debacles too, especially when it comes to free agencies. Big Papi, comes to mind.

Answer to question 3: It’s Primus! for god sakes doesn’t anyone know the brilliance that is mike patton!
